The exhaust systems and fume hood fan will be shut down that serve the area highlighted in BLUE on this map in NCRC, Building 14 on Saturday, September 28th from 6:00AM - 2:30PM.
All lab operations should cease during this time.
It will not be possible to regulate or adjust temperatures during this time, so please plan accordingly.
Remember that during an exhaust fan shutdown:
- All chemical containers in the labs must be capped, or covered and properly stored.
- All equipment requiring appropriate ventilation should not be in use.

Maintenance personnel will be working within the exhaust system duct work. Conducting any experiment in a shutdown fume hood, or using any duct exhaust system connected to the shutdown system is strictly prohibited during this time.
Labs: Post out the fume hoods with EHS’s “Warning Posting-Fume Hood Out of Service” poster ahead of the shutdown date. This should be removed afterwards.
