The toolbox for a process development engineer includes a wide range of technologies and requires a fundamental understanding of chemical engineering principles and unit operations. This presentation will give an overview of the Dow approach to process development for two pyrimidine intermediates important to the agrichemical crop protection industry. Specific examples of challenges and opportunities encountered during the process development and scale-up of these two pyrimidines will be presented and discussed.”
