The Medical School Dean's Awards Program (link is external) recognizes Medical School faculty and staff who demonstrate exceptional accomplishment in the areas of teaching, research, clinical care, community service and administration. 

The prestigious Distinguished Faculty Lectureship Award in Biomedical Research will be held on Wednesday, December 12, honoring Thomas W. Glover, Ph.D. (link is external), Professor of  Human Genetics, Professor of Pathology, and Professor of Pediatrics.

Dr. Glover is being recognized for his fundamental discoveries in human genetics, including as the defining scientist of the field of human common fragile sites - a pervasive feature of human chromosomes that has become increasingly important to our understanding of critical molecular mechanisms and related human genomic disorders. He is an outstanding cytogeneticist who routinely applies his unique research insights in the clinical laboratory, and he is widely known as a dedicated mentor and generous collaborator.

The Distinguished Faculty Lectureship Award in Biomedical Research (link is external) recognizes a faculty member who has shown long-term contributions of biomedical research, teaching and service to the University of Michigan.
