Description of Work
The result of intersecting visual signifiers, both real and imaginative, the graphic work of Endi Poskovic explore different strategies of representation and invite the viewer to peer into a window of imaginative worlds that are at once recognizable and simultaneously abstract. Poskovic is a Professor of Art and Design at the University of Michigan Stamps School of Art and Design.
A recipient of Guggenheim, Rockefeller, Pollock-Krasner, Camargo, Art Matters, Flemish-Belgian Government Ministry, Norwegian Government Fellowships, and many others, Poskovic was educated in Yugoslavia, Norway and the US. He has exhibited extensively, representing the US in all major print biennials and triennials throughout the world. His work can be found at Detroit Institute of Art, Harvard University Fogg Museum, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Royal Antwerp Museum of Art and numerous others.
